Chapter Fifteen

Morgan wished that she could blame it on the wine. Or an allergic reaction to something or other. Sadly, there was no easy explanation as to how she’d sat down to a movie and awakened naked in her clients’ bed.

With them in it.

Naked, too.

“Christ on a cracker.”

Casey’s pet swear phrase slipped out, causing heads to turn. The lone female in a dining hall of hunky, single men, she had been the center of attention since Zac and Aiden had escorted her downstairs for breakfast. Zana had already quoted Rumi’s poetry. Emmett kept adjusting his glasses. Theo hadn’t stopped bouncing looks between her and the English librarian. Killian and Cayden were complaining how no one served a full English, whatever that was. Mostly they critiqued the gourmet fare that Gael had prepared. The Frenchman kept muttering under his breath about unsophisticated barbarians.

Malik and Iosefa were missing.

Judging from the look that Zac gave Aiden, the senior partner seemed like he was wondering how much he should say.

Morgan rolled her eyes and huffed a breath. “Just tell me, goddammit.”

The members of the cadre gasped to hear her take the Lord’s name in vain.

You’d think they’d never heard a woman swear.

Wait.

Maybe they hadn’t.

“Sorry,” she mumbled and took a bite of a chocolate croissant.

Oh. My. God.

She moaned in ecstasy.

Aiden’s knife hand twitched.

A low growl sounded in the back of Zac’s throat and echoed in her core, setting her lady bits to tingling. The guys had been thoughtful enough to pack her vibrator. Hopefully, with four extra hands and more sessions planned, she wouldn’t need batteries for a while.

“Do you remember us arriving last night?” Aiden asked quietly, watching her eat.

“It’s fuzzy…. I remember hitting you with a baseball bat.”

If she had, he looked fine this morning. There’d been no sign of bruises on his naked body when she’d awakened.

A few of the men around them chuckled. Tobias watched silently from his spot at the head of the table.

“We had to kick your door down,” he continued, taking another croissant from a plate.

Morgan sat in silence for a moment, stunned. She could feel Zac’s gaze on her, absorbing the building look of horror on her face.

Tilting her head to the side, she stared at Aiden. “What the...?” she gasped. “If you kicked down my door, why the hell am I here, then? Who’s looking after our stuff? Oh, my God! Casey is going to kill me!”

Hearing her panic, Zac hastened to reassure her. “Malik and Iosefa are there. They were instructed to guard your apartment and protect everything that is yours.”

Taking three deep breaths, Morgan struggled to ground herself. “And my door? Who’s going to fix my door? Jesus! What do I tell the supervisor?”

Casey was going to have a fit when she found out. Groaning, Morgan covered her face with her hands.

“The doors will be repaired today.” Tobias’s calming voice washed over her from the other end of the table. “We are covering the cost. You will be provided with a new lock and key.
